Building the Beehive

Beginning in March 2012, several friends came to the Beehive to paint and get it ready for business. The building was a salon, and just needed some fresh paint, utility sink, and Josie's buzzing energy. Thanks so much: Connie and Terry, AmyKay and Sylvia, Michael, Kyle, Gwen, Joey, Jacque, Randi, Dolores, Ashley, and Emily, Kevin, Maria, Michele, Axelle, and Lance. 

Nathan Brown Workshop Performance

The Beehive Collaborative's very first event happened on Saturday, March 3rd. Floors swept, water and electricity just turned on. Poet and teacher Joey Brown invited poet and songwriter Nathan Brown to Joplin for a song-writing workshop on campus with college students. This culminated in a performance of live music and readings at the Beehive. What a brilliant event to christen the space with such talent and synergy!
